More than 35 years ago, the author of Smart Little Sunny felt a tugging at her heart strings for homeless children. At that time a teacher and basketball coach, Dr. Wanda Sue knew that one day she would be directed to a mission with that end.

 

Fifteen years later, she found herself as a school principal working on a doctorate. It was at that time she created the character that is now at the heart of the Smart Little Sunny series.

 

Today, Dr. Wanda Sue trains K-12 and university leaders through teaching, mentoring, coaching, and consulting. These leaders will go on to make a difference in the lives of thousands of children in the southern coastal region of the United States as well as at the college and university level.

It is still her dream and passion to one day support children without homes through her writing.

 

For the future, the vision is clear. When the timing is right, a children’s home in a ranch setting will be initiated as a host home for those in need.
